False Dawns, False Hopes But Real Dollars
Another drug for Alzheimer's disease that can only deliver profit
It is difficult to miss or ignore the media hype surrounding the latest cure for Alzheimer's disease. Granted, the over reaction is not coming from the scientific press as evidenced by a number of luke warm editorials. However, in the UK at least every mainstream newspaper has an overblown story on this on its front page. I have even read somewhere that the NHS may be recommending prescription of this drug by 2025.
The drug is called Donanemab and it is yet another example of a monoclonal antibody directed at ‘dissolving’ amyloid plaques in individuals with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Such drugs have a long, long history in failing to treat Alzheimer’s disease as pointed out in an accompanying editorial. One does have to ask the question as to why drug companies continue to spend millions of dollars on this approach to treatment. I ask myself the question as to whether the latest drug, Donanemab, is actually so similar to previous monoclonal antibody drugs that it might almost be considered as re-purposed.
The results of the trial after receiving the drug every 4 weeks for 76 weeks are in the main equivocal. Though apparently statistically so. Brain amyloid scans appear to show that the drug reduces brain amyloid load. This is probably the major finding of the trial. However, the reductions in brain amyloid load are not matched by improvements in cognitive function as measured by ADAS-Cog. If I have read the data correctly the difference in ADAS-Cog score between patients and controls is only 2 points. A minimal clinically relevant change (MCRC) in ADAS-Cog is considered to be 3 points. So, after 76 weeks of receiving the drug cognition improved by just 2 points compared to the placebo group. Incidentally, I have written to the corresponding author of the paper to ask what the placebo is composed of. No reply as yet.
By way of a comparison. In our silicon-rich mineral water study, out of 15 participants with Alzheimer’s disease cognitive function (applying a MCRC of 3) deteriorated in 7 individuals, remained unchanged in 5 individuals and improved in 3 individuals. Regarding the latter, in 2 of the 3 individuals the ADAS-Cog score was lowered (showing improvement) by 8 and 9 units. These improvements in cognition were achieved after only 12 weeks of drinking the silicon-rich mineral water.
Previous trials using monoclonal antibodies against amyloid plaques were fraught with serious adverse events including death of participants. This new trial is no different with two deaths being attributed to the actions of the drug. We now know unequivocally that aluminium is a major component of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer's disease. The ‘new’ drug works by promoting the breakdown and ingestion of amyloid by brain microglia. The latter can engulf and digest amyloid protein but they can do nothing about the associated aluminium and the microglia will themselves become targets of their toxic cargo of aluminium. Is it the removal of amyloid that is responsible for the serious adverse events caused by Donanemab or is it the aluminium released from the amyloid plaques by the action of the microglia.
Regardless of what mainstream media reports and drug companies tell us, there is no scientific consensus as to the role played by amyloid beta protein in Alzheimer’s disease. Many aged individuals with no dementia have been shown at autopsy to have high brain burdens of amyloid plaques. Drugs designed to remove such amyloid are a form of Russian roulette, a game that is unethical to play with those suffering with early stage Alzheimer’s disease.
Alzheimer’s is a disease that was unknown until the early 1900s, when a German Physician, Doctor Alzheimer, dissected the brain of a patient that had died of dementia. In the brain, he found the plaques and tangles that are now the universally accepted post-mortem “signature “ of the disease that bears his name.
PhD CHRISTOPHER EXLEY, aka “Mr. Aluminum” has written a somewhat whimsically book titled book… “IMAGINE YOU ARE AN ALUMINUM ATUMN.” In this book, he discusses various aspects of his chosen scientific studies.
One extraordinarily important aspect of Dr. Exley’s conclusions… after years of study… is that Aluminum is ALWAYS found in the Alzheimer’s brain’s “Plaques” and “Tangles.”
He has come to the conclusion that Aluminum is TOXIC to humans and that it *causes* Alzheimer’s!
Since we now know what causes Alzheimer’s, it *should* be straightforward to find a treatment… right?
Well… maybe not! First off, only a few MDs are “on board” with these findings. Mostly… it can be reasoned… because this is not what they learned in Medical School!
The process of removing unwanted metals from the body is called Chelation. In this process, supervised by an MD, a variety of chemicals is inserted into a vein. The chemicals’ function is to remove unwanted metals, like lead, arsenic, aluminum and others, from the body.
Only in major metropolitan areas do we find chelation laboratories. They are expensive… several hundred dollars per session, and each session takes several hours. Results are slow. And, because chelation is non-selective, the removal of Aluminum is S L O W!
But… what if there was a SIMPLE, SAFE and INEXPENSIVE method to orally chelate ONLY ALUMINUM from the body?
THERE IS !
OSA is a safe chemical compound, taken by mouth, that has the almost-unique ability of *dissolving* bodily Aluminum. Once it is dissolved, the body’s natural processes take over. The now-dissolved aluminum is *ejected* from the body as perspiration (sweat) and in urine (pee-pee).
Best of all, there are many *commercially-available* bottled waters that contain enough OSA to *safely* dissolve bodily aluminum so it can be *naturally eliminated*.
Stateside, the best *available* (and second-best… worldwide) is FIJI water. Many retail stores stock it. It is also available online via AMAZON.
HOW DO WE KNOW IT WORKS? The medical community has developed a highly accurate Alzheimer’s screening test called the MMSE. This is is a verbally administered 30 question test.
According to Wikipedia, “Any score of 24 or more (out of 30) indicates a normal cognition. Below this, scores can indicate severe (≤9 points), moderate (10–18 points) or mild (19–23 points) cognitive impairment.”
A couple of years ago, as part of my annual family MD’s physical examination, I took the test and “flunked” it, with a score in the low 20s! I was referred to an Alzheimer’s Specialist. He repeated the test and confirmed it.
I HAD BEGINNING STAGE ALZHEIMER’S!
I began reading about this disease, and learned the information that I presented at the beginning of this note.
1. Aluminum *causes* Alzheimer’s.
2. Drinking OSA water dissolves Aluminum so the body can eliminate it.
I immediately took two actions:
1. I *discarded* ALL the Aluminum cooking utensils in the household and *tossed* ALL our Aluminum foil.
2. I began drinking at least a liter/quart of Fiji water daily.
The result? At my last *two* annual visits to see my Alzheimer’s MDs, I scored 28 and 29 out of 30… HIGH NORMAL!
AMI I “CURED” OF ALZHEIMER’S?
I don’t know. But at age 82, I and my bride of 30 years just returned from a vacation trip… circumnavigating the world. (And I knew where I was while traveling, and remember where we went… including riding on an Elephant!)
Will this approach “work” for everyone? Again, I don’t know. But my Alzheimer’s MD’s are baffled.
That’s OK. *I* am NOT BAFFLED!
Drugs are only a substitute for healthier living. And an extremely poor one at that. Over time, people deconstruct their inner humanness (biological systems) by living destructive life styles. It actually starts the day you are born when they begin to inject you with vaccine poisons. Eventually, you become sick, ill and diseased and then seek drugs as a means of correcting this. It seldom works.
If it isn't too late, you must go to the source and change your living habits. It is really insane to think you can destroy your body and then expect a toxic drug (and most of them are toxic) to save you from pain, discomfort and death. Yet, this is the message drug marketing in all its various forms wants you to believe.
Think about it...if drugs really worked as they say they do, then they would market themselves as the results would drive people to engorge in them. Gobbling up big pharma drugs would become the new healthier living craze. The truth is 180 degrees from that idea.
