Thank you so much for sharing! WOW! This explains why you do not want to be deficient in magnesium of which it has been estimated that 80-90% of the population is deficient. Why you should avoid aluminum by avoiding foods/drinks packaged in aluminum cans, aluminum foil for cooking and aluminum containing cookware.

Interesting!

Do you think that aluminum toxiciyty play a role i ME/CFS?

Some studies indicate that cells produce lactic acid instead of ATP, is AIATP the reason for this?

Expand full comment

Yes, there is research to suggest a role for aluminium in ME/CFS. I write about this briefly in my book.

Thx Dr. Exley, as always I keep looking forward to reading your articles.

Quick Question - I have been using aluminum foil to cover the space between the burners on my gas range, in my kitchen. It helps with keeping the range clean. I realised that I need to use high flame/high heat options often, is there a chance that under these conditions some of the foil might get vaporised? Is there a characteristic smell of vaporised aluminium? Would you recommend continuing this practise?

Unlikely.

what is your advice on using aluminium foil to wrap food items, for BBQ etc?

Don't. Just don't.

Fascinating. The research on AL and ATP should be an obvious priority. Unfortunately, we can guess why it isn’t. Thank you. Are there references you would recommend to understand more in the ATP signaling pathways and receptors?
