I’m one of the “peers” in peer review. The quality of scientific product started to decline in the 1990s as papers went from having one to four authors to having dozens. In the 2000s, I rejected most of what crossed my desk. Eventually the manuscripts stopped coming. Science has been corrupted completely by big pharma and big device makers. Believe just about nothing unless it makes sense to you, assuming you have some science chops.

I don’t have much “science chops”, although I’ve learned more in the last 5 years than I have in the past 50!, but one thing I HAVE learned…. Don’t trust anything that comes out of any federal agency and do your own research before you believe anything else! Learn which Doctors, clinicians and researchers have been truthful in the past and research what they have to say! A big thanks to doctors like Dr. Exley, for exposing the truth!

I've never understood how scientific and medical papers can have so many authors, particularly when they are quite short. What did each of these people do? I figured it must be something unique to those fields and how they work that I am ignorant of having no experience of them. But perhaps it is in fact a red flag and my instincts were on the right track?

Thank you, Doctor. Have been advocating my family members against the reflexive taking of antacids, that antacids mask the many reasons for their ‘discomfort’, that the root cause of their ‘discomfort’ can be determined and addressed. Presently a family member, having had the ‘offending’ gallbladder removed, is relying heavily on antacids. Your post will help direct the conversation to consider alternate preventive methods. Thank you.

Expand full comment

Yes, the marvelous medical machine at work... unfortunately you need your gallbladder to process fats that you eat, so now your family member will have even more problems digesting foods properly.... They did this to my mom as well, after aggravating her gallbladder in the first place with a no-fat diet. She had many problems with digestion.

You can get antacids that have calcium carbonate and no aluminum. For my father in law calcium carbonate was as effective as the aluminum containing antacid. Unfortunately some people are more receptive to hearing this information and when it is a family member or close friend who is unwilling to hear this information and can be difficult. I have a friend whose mother died of Alzheimer's and her final years were horrific. She does not avoid aluminum and only drinks silica water because her husband was receptive to the information and buys silica water.

"A Midwestern Doctor" recently posted a substack article about the critical importance of acidity in digestion, and the problems caused by reducing those acids. https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/p/stomach-acid-is-good-for-you

One item that surprised me was that acid reflux can actually caused by too low acidity in the stomach, because the valve at the top of your stomach is triggered to close by high acidity.

I read Midwestern Doctor regularly and have implemented many of the suggestions in those posts. That article had great advice and certainly worked for me. Highly recommend MWD to all.

Big fan of AMD here too! Have also implemented many of his/her suggestions with positive results.

Perhaps I should say "regular reader" rather than "fan". Fan I feel implies uncritical belief in everything someone says which I am loathe to do these days with anyone. But AMD is certainly someone whose views I consider more credible than most and that warrant serious consideration.

Have a longtime friend who worked as a scientist for usda his entire career. I knew him to be thoughtful person with a wicked sense of humor. Recently, on Facebook he was touting the most current version of the COVID vaccine and its availability. He has been unquestioningly supportive of it since the beginning and also of the natural origins propaganda. I am shocked at his total acceptance of the government line and his staunch defense of science and peer review. Even former journal editors admit to various and numerous inadequacies. A recent survey about peer review exposed a wide gap between what people, including scientists, think the process to be and what it actually amounts to-evidently mostly proof reading with only rare assessment of the raw data. What has happened is a sort of regression into a slavish adherence to the status quo. I detest the whole business but have real admiration for the sales and pr job they have done . It has even gotten people to censor themselves. Totally the opposite of the method and spirit of science

The study mentioned in the article above was obviously done to poison future science via citations.

However sometimes the company needs good information for its own legal assessments of liability and to choose strategic directions of R&D or production, so it might do a proper study (minus peer review) but keep it secret forever. The PFAS scandal with Dupont is one example, and cancer/tobacco might be another.

I think conflictually funded studies could theoretically be valid and valuable if there were transparency (including access to source data) and real peer review.

I grew up as a scientist believing axiomatically that peer review was desirable and necessary - the foundation of science..

..then covid exposed the fact that really it's just censorship.

Which may be ok if you trust the censors but how can people even know who they are?

It seems to me peer review as it's known today, and the entire scientific publishing industry (largely a scam) is dead for the purposes of real science. It's almost all marketing, as per your example, or funding games or worse.

If you have done some work, publish it directly and the rest of the world will decide what to do with it - by evaluating it themselves or by choosing their own reviewers. This happens already on substack etc.

I really believe we are at the beginning of a golden age of science, partly because peer review is dying.

When my first paper was published in Nature in 1989 the only adverts in the journal (hard copy only in 1989) were in a section at the end called 'Advertisements'. Journal income came from the scientists whose papers were accepted for publication. Rightly or wrongly we believed in peer review in 1989. We need to return to publication values prior to journals (publishers) being captured by vested interests. We still need a system of value/verification for new science. It is not just about opinion, informed or otherwise.

So true! There was a time that you could google Autism and you would find a plethora of information on the causes but now for the most part only articles or papers that claim it’s hereditary and that toxins in vaccines have nothing to do with causing it. It feels like we are locked out of the truth.

Thanks to scientists and researchers like Dr Exley for bringing their knowledge so we can see the unadulterated cause and effect of true science.

What do we use for indigestion ? I’ve been taking Omeprazole for years. Any aluminium free antacids out there?

Good question. Long term inhibition of proton pumps cannot be 'healthy' I agree though aluminium-based antacids are not a viable alternative. There are antacids that do not include an aluminium salt (are they effective?) and some swear that somethings as simple as sodium bicarbonate drink does a job.

Expand full comment

I only use a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate as and when necessary and I find that it works better than any over the counter antacid that I used to buy. It is very quick and effective and safe. I mix it with distilled tap water.

Expand full comment

Some say that it is not a good idea to neutralize your stomach acid, and that in many cases indigestion is caused by too little stomach acid, not too much. Maybe try some organic apple cider vinegar slightly diluted in some water before / after meals? Try avoiding junk / artificial / toxic foods? I would try anything like that before any drug or even sodium bicarbonate. I mean... you need stomach acid to digest your food properly, and possibly it also acts as a 'guard' against some bacteria, fungi, parasites, etc that you might ingest and might cause issues. Just seems a bad idea to neutralize it...

There is research (valid?) that shows a lack of stomach acidity due to proton pump inhibitors caused bacterial pneumonia (presumably from the bacteria being able to breed in the now less-acidic stomach and creeping up into the air passages from there?)

Personally, if I have a rare issue with this I use a strong shot of organic apple cider vinegar (maybe a teaspoon mixed with a quarter cup of water, something like that).

So, long story short: years ago, I was put on a prescription anti-inflammatory after years of eating ibuprofen like candy for terrible knee pain. The sum of all this was a destroyed stomach lining, ulcer, beginnings of Barrett's Esophagus, and TERRIBLE reflux. Instead of checking my stomach acid level, I was put on prescription PPI. This I had to take for years...every time I would try to get off of them, the reflux would come back 100-fold. Finally, after some research, I was able to get off of the PPI and am relatively pain free now. What I did was:

1. Step down from Dexlansoprazole 60mg to Esomeprazole Magnesium 20mg

2. Then stopped prescriptions altogether and got OTC Famotidine 20mg for the inevitable reflux rebound that would last about 2 weeks. Raised head of bed helped. After I got through that, I

3. Used apple cider vinegar in water before meals and/or 500mg Betaine Hydrochloride during the meal to help increase acid production, because both too little and too much acid can activate the valve on the esophagus and up comes stomach contents. I am convinced that my problem is too little acid, not too much. Being over weight can also mess with that esophageal valve.

4. If I did get an uncomfortable case of reflux due to spicy food/wine, there are new antacids out that use algae/seaweed extract to gel up and float on top of stomach contents. Gaviscon makes one and so does Enzymedica. They work pretty well but only for an hour or so.

This journey back to stomach health took about 5 months because I did all the steps above VERY slowly. I am living proof it can be done. So much for a short story!!

However when he went to the hospital (he had COPD and was prone to pneumonia) they would put him back on the Omeprazole. I hope the calcium carbonate is effective for you.

Thank you for this, Dr Exley, it comes as no surprise but it is good to know and share. Every day, I wonder how long it will be before we humans will live in a safe world. This will not happen until we, as a species, unite and stand against the real enemy who is doing everything to destroy us. This will happen when we stop fighting amongst ourselves and stand together in the common cause of bringing down the deep state corruption that is everywhere. We can start within our own communities and, if we all do this, change will come faster than we think.

Fraudulent methodology, biased trial design, conflicts of interest and deceit to make vaccines appear 'safe and effective' has been systemic and entrenched for decades.

This is standard practice for corrupt industry and captured regulators to maintain the edifice of fraud; https://icandecide.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/ICAN-Reply-1.pdf

Expand full comment

"For primary research the first step in the review process is to look at the methodology. If the methods used are inappropriate or have not been described in sufficient detail there is no point in reviewing the results."

Apparently no reviewers of any 'research,' ever, that is used to legitimize Virology and Vaccinology got that memo ;) Seriously, virology is nonsense on its face when you look at the methods used to show the supposed existence of any 'virus.' Same with Vaccinology, when the 'safe and effective' testing uses fake anti-placebos (like the aluminum adjuvant, for example, or another toxic vaccine) as 'placebos' to show 'safety.' And needless to say, effectiveness is questionable if the 'virus' it is meant to 'protect' against doesn't even exist... It's just an amazing example of a fraudulent universe that formed, and has become self-sustaining within itself, even though the foundations are completely rotten. (but immensely profitable for Pharma)

Expand full comment

I’m hearing the stories of how the placebo groups in some trials are not the standard method, example in the HPV vaccine, the placebo group received aluminum the same as in the vaccine. My question is why, why would you use such an invasive chemical and cause more harm than just doing nothing. I guess it’s really all about the money, they can’t sell their idea if it doesn’t create an immune response who cares that it’s going to damage or kill millions of people lives.

Expand full comment

Well, the problem is that the 'standard method' for vaccine 'safety' testing is complete fraud-- they NEVER use a real placebo (saline solution, for example) for the placebo group. I think there were one or two times in history where they actually used an actual saline solution, a real placebo. EVERY OTHER 'safety' trial for every vaccine (except for some of the old ones that weren't safety tested at all and were 'grandfathered' in as 'assumed safe') used the toxic adjuvant or a different toxic vaccine as the 'placebo' !! Which is just plain fraud!

The reason is very simple (if you're a psychopath): If the vaccine group has (say) 8% serious immediate adverse effects from the vaccine, but the placebo group has 0% adverse effects, how can you say your vaccine is 'safe'? But if you give the placebo group the toxic adjuvant or another toxic vaccine, and that group then has 8% serious adverse effects, then you can claim that the new vaccine causes no new adverse effects... Basically it is perfectly 'safe.' Which is insane!!! Both groups were very damaging at 8% adverse effects that wouldn't have happened otherwise!

It's statistical fraud / trickery, or mass poisoning / murder depending on your point of view.

Expand full comment

Thank you for explaining how the placebo works in the hands of a psychopath. Even a fifth grader would figure this doesn’t add up.

Expand full comment

There are a lot of points in the vaccine issue that you can point at and say 'it would not be this way if this thing had not happened.' Like the horrible evil 1986 law that the US passed to give legal immunity to vaccine makers for any harm they cause with their vaccines if the vaccine is placed on the 'recommended' vaccine schedule for children. This turned the vaccine racket into a goldmine, and Pharma rushes to make as many vaccines as possible to inject into kids (hence the exploding autism and chronic disease in children since 1986). If not for that immunity, Pharma companies could be sued for harm they cause and vaccines would have ceased to exist long ago.

Well, I touched on this before, but one of the tricks with the placebo issue exists because at some point in the past the old (often very toxic) vaccines were assumed 'safe and effective' and grandfathered in to the new system. That's criminal and absurd right there. But it allowed Pharma to use those 'safe' vaccines as placebos for new vaccines (they're 'safe' right?). Then, later generations of vaccines could use those previous ones as placebos. And on and on. Like so much about virology and vaccinology, it is fraud built on fraud built on fraud. A rotten onion with layer upon layer of rot. But if they had not been allowed to assume the original vaccines were 'safe' then the rest of this couldn't have happened as easily.

Ironically (since you mentioned HPV at the start of this), one of the very few times a saline placebo was actually used was for an HPV vaccine safety test. I don't remember which one, but there were massive amounts of adverse effects in the vaccine group compared to the placebo group. Needless to say this doesn't help a vaccine-pusher Pharma company claim its vaccine is 'safe' so we don't see that sort of 'mistake' often. It is extremely likely you will see a new HPV vaccine use a previous one as a 'placebo' to hide the horrible amount of adverse effects caused.

(And adding insult to injury, HPV is another 'virus' that has never been proven to exist, much less to cause any problem much less cancer).
