The one that particularly annoys me is aluminum caps on glass bottles of organic olive oil and apple cider vinegar. So, you go to the trouble of organically growing and processing these foods without toxic synthetic poisons. Then you go to the trouble of packaging them in non-reactive glass. But... You put a lid on it made of aluminum, that will grind into a fine powder on the glass threads of the bottle and then form some aluminum emulsion with the oil or (even worse) acidic vinegar? It's not a great feeling to wipe the lip of the bottle on your hand and see a grey liquid shimmering with metallic particles. I try to transfer these things into bottles with plastic lids, but it shouldn't be necessary.

So many bottle caps are aluminium! I buy glass bottles to store all sorts of foodstuffs in but it's impossible to find non aluminium lids!

All of the sellers of organic olive oil use aluminum caps or just the one you prefer?

Plastic is far more common than any metal for bottle caps.

Aluminium is everywhere. I have researched lipstick brands and found one that doesn’t use aluminium based color. Henne Organics is the brand.

My dear Aunt has advanced Alzheimers disease. She never left the house without a perfect application of lipstick. Something to think about.

Thanks for the tip on the aluminium-free lipstick. Sorry to hear about your Aunt. MSG is as ubiquitous as aluminium. MSG causes Alzheimers in aged brains -- Autism in young brains.

Yes, MSG is hard to avoid also.

Thank you, Doctor. Your book ‘Aluminum Atom’ was an eye opener. This article brings another timely layer of knowledge. Recently I received a medicine purchase packaged in a re-sealable foil envelope, the contents of which I will now transfer to a dark glass medicine bottle. Years ago, my parents discontinued use of aluminum cooking utensils because Mother read the original Prevention Magazines (Rodale). Thank you and take care.

We roast vegetables in the oven over foil and olive oil sprayed over them. The foil is covered with "parchment" paper to avoid contact with aluminum. I don't know if that is perfect but hope it is good enough.

Expand full comment

Sounds good to me.

Expand full comment

Just curious - why not simply use the parchment & leave out the Al foil?

I'll try it next weekend.

Expand full comment

We think the oil will get through the parchment to the pan. I think a little oil gets through the paper. We're trying to avoid having to clean the pan after use.

Expand full comment

FYI I did try it & you're right. Some oil did soak through, but it wasn't too bad. I shoved the pan in the dishwasher, which degreased & mostly cleaned it. A few seconds elbow grease & it was good to go again. I'm going to try a pyrex roasting dish next to see if that is better than stainless steel. Either way, we're finished with Al foil.

Dr. Exley,

After reading your book, my autistic child has been drinking Fiji for about 6 weeks. We notice he has much better attention, behaviour, verbal instruction and school participation! Everything is improving gradually! It’s just amazing! Thanks so much!

I have one problem - it’s quite difficult to feed him 1L water per day, may I carbonate the water without affecting the silica function? Or add some organic honey to make it easier for him?

BTW, the pictures highlighting the aluminium particles in brain tissues in your book are truly stunning! What an undeniable evidence!

Expand full comment

Music to my ears. Yes, feel free to carbonate or use it to make other drinks. Adding organic honey sounds like an excellent idea. Make silicon-rich water a habit of a lifetime, it can only be helpful for your son and yourselves.

So grateful for what you have to mankind and sacrifice your career for telling the truth. One day, hope we can make the world health again, MWHA. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Maybe fix him “KOOLADE” or similar?

It's always the scumbags that are hiding the truth that love to use legal intimidation. Thankfully they got told to fk off.

Sooner or later all of this pseudoscience industry bullshit will be exposed as more and more people are learning about a lot of things that can harm us, even when "they" (the predator profit class) pretend like it's safe.

My favorite was the interview with the Monsanto rep. The interviewer got him to say how safe glysophate was. So he asked the Monsanto rep to prove it by drinking a cup of it.

The Monsanto asshole walked out of the interview! 😂

So basically, avoid drinking any canned beverages — soft drinks, beer, etc.? Always opt for bottles or draft.

I do have aluminum foil in my home. I use it to wrap paint brushes in between painting sessions.

Sadly, Musashi is no longer a small business. It was bought around 2015 by a bigger company called Vitaco, which included a couple of other brands. Vitaco then went public as a company & soon thereafter was acquired by Shanghai Pharmaceuticals & Primavera Capital.

It always saddens me when small businesses sell out this way. I can't say I blame them though, the owners could retire for life.

Dr Christopher Exley, Thank you so much for your hard work, dedication and passion.

Since early summer this year when I became aware of your work I have been getting Acilis or Fiji Waters.

Does your book have an audio option?

Also, where abouts would I find your thoughts on Osteoporosis? There's much to search through to access that information. With thanks and kind regards.

Expand full comment

Aluminium is a cause of osteomalacia and may also have a role to play in osteoporosis. You are doing the right thing, regular drinking of a silicon-rich water can only help with bone health in general.

Thank you.

"In 1808, Sir Humphry Davy identified the existence of the metal in alum, which he at first named 'alumium' and later "aluminum." Davy proposed the name aluminum when referring to the element in his 1812 book Elements of Chemical Philosophy, despite his previous use of 'alumium.' The official name 'aluminium' was adopted to conform with the -ium names of most other elements. The 1828 Webster's Dictionary used the 'aluminum' spelling, which it maintained in later editions. In 1925, the American Chemical Society (ACS) decided to go from aluminium back to the original aluminum, putting the United States in the "aluminum" group. In recent years, the IUPAC had identified 'aluminium' as the proper spelling, but it didn't catch on in North America, since the ACS used aluminum. The IUPAC periodic table presently lists both spellings and says both words are perfectly acceptable. "

COSTCO is a US low-price membership-only retailer. They are often dramatically lower in price for most hard goods.

They also have a delicatessen with many premade food items.

Unfortunately, most, if not all of those items are cooked and then served in large ALUMINUM pans.

BEWARE!

Aluminum in the beverage industry certainly creates larger profit margins in shipping for the makers. It's really too bad, as some beers (esp. darker lagers due to ingredients and method) are very high in silica. Thousands of people survive in my state on returning bottles and cans, with cans being much preferred by them for the lighter weight. 'Killing us softly....'

Edensoy says that its product in Tetrapak boxes does not come into contact with aluminium and that "no aluminum or polyethylene has ever been detected in EDENSOY beverages". https://www.edenfoods.com/faqs/view.php?categories_id=2#faq86

I wonder if their claim is based on a lack of studies by independent labs.
